Greek driving theory test in English — category A (motorcycle)

Free practice for the Greek road code theory exam for a motorcycle licence. Each test contains 10 questions, one from each of the 10 topic groups of the special two-wheeler material, with 15 minutes on the clock and a pass mark of no more than one mistake. Questions are selected at random from a bank of 140 questions, so every attempt is different.

One point catches many candidates out: a motorcycle licence is not examined only on the general traffic rules. There is a separate body of material that concerns the two-wheeler alone — protective equipment, balance, how the machine behaves and how visible the rider is to everyone else. That is where most marks are lost.

What the category A exam covers

  • Helmet and protective gear — an approved type that fits, fastened correctly, plus back support belt, gloves and proper clothing even in summer.
  • Riding position — knees against the tank, feet resting properly on the footrests, a firm hold on the handlebars.
  • Braking — using both brakes together with priority to the front one, and how that changes on a wet or slippery surface.
  • Road position and visibility — staying where the driver in front can see you in their mirrors, because otherwise you simply do not exist to them.
  • Bends and balance — leaning, looking through to the exit of the bend, accelerating and slowing down mid-corner.
  • Hazards — potholes, metal covers, tram rails, gravel, spilled oil and painted markings in the rain.
  • Passenger and load — when a pillion passenger is allowed and how it changes the behaviour of the machine.
  • General rules — signs, right of way, speed limits, lights and documents.

A tip for studying

Motorcycle questions often offer two answers that both sound reasonable, but one of them is more precise. Read the whole question and every option before you decide, and ask yourself each time which of the two actually describes what happens on the road. Sit complete tests with the timer running, and always go through the mistake review at the end.

The same motorcycle test is also available in Greek, Albanian and Russian. See also the tests for car, truck and bus, and the Greek-language preparation guides.
