Greek driving theory test in English — category B (car)

This page gives you free practice for the Greek road code theory exam for a category B licence, the licence for an ordinary passenger car. Every time you press start, a fresh test is built with 30 questions: one taken from each of the 30 topic groups of the official study material. You get 35 minutes, and you pass with no more than one mistake. The format deliberately matches the real examination, so that the pace and the time pressure are already familiar to you on the day.

Where the questions come from

Questions are drawn at random from a bank of 824 questions translated from the official Greek theory material. Because the selection is random within each group, no two attempts are the same. That is intentional: the aim is not to memorise the order of the answers, but to understand the rule behind each one.

What the category B exam covers

  • Road signs — warning, regulatory and informative signs, supplementary plates and road markings.
  • Right of way — junctions, roundabouts, traffic lights, police signals, emergency vehicles.
  • Driving and manoeuvres — overtaking, changing lanes, turning, reversing, joining and leaving a motorway.
  • Speed and distance — limits for each type of road, safe following distance, stopping distance, braking on a slippery surface.
  • Stopping and parking — where it is forbidden, and what applies near crossings, bends and narrow roads.
  • Safety — seat belts, child seats, head restraints, alcohol, fatigue, medicines, use of a mobile phone.
  • The vehicle — lights, tyres, fluids, brakes, basic maintenance, pollution and economical driving.
  • Documents and duties — driving licence and registration, insurance, roadworthiness test, what to do after an accident.

How to practise properly

Do not answer a few scattered questions. Sit complete tests with the timer running, exactly as in the examination. When you finish, do not just look at the score: go through the mistake review and, for every wrong answer, find the rule that explains it. A mistake you understand does not come back; a mistake you merely read about does. Consider yourself ready when you score zero or one mistake consistently across three or four different tests in a row, not when you manage it once.

The same category B test is also available in Greek, Albanian and Russian. There are also tests for motorcycle, truck and bus, and Greek-language preparation guides covering road signs, how the theory exam works and the most common mistakes.
